Cruisers warned to be careful

A warning for New Zealanders looking into the idea of a cruise ship holiday to watch their backs.

It comes amid claims a young woman was sexually assaulted on board a P&O Cruise ship near Noumea 12 days ago.

Police reportedly boarded the ship last weekend when it docked in Brisbane, and spoke with several passengers.

No charges have yet been laid.

The allegation comes less than two years after a New Zealand woman claimed she had been raped on P&O's Pacific Star.

P&O brings close to 50,000 passengers to the country every year
